As the granddaughter of a second-generation homesteader from the plains of Wyoming, I feel powerfully and purposefully drawn to authentic American western silhouettes. The most important values that I abide by are that all of our items are ethically produced (fair wages, safe working conditions, and no child labor), our fabrics are sustainably sourced, and that our designs are original and exclusive to us.Β
I have long been inspired by my affinity for artisan textiles and experiences traveling the world working with global communities. I started Wylder Trading Company to connect conscious consumers with ethically made products.
Based out of Southern Arizona, I currently run and operate Wylder Trading Company with my favorite business partners - my husband, two "wyld" boys, and the incredibly talented artisan partners that have collaborated with us from around the globe.
I believe that fashion should be slow and methodical β when choosing a piece to purchase, it should be something you will repeatedly wear. Something that you personally connect to. And above all, something that was ethically made and that contributes to more humane, sustainable, and reputable manufacturing processes. All of the products featured with Wylder Trading Company are Fair Trade Certified or ethically made. This means that our products provide livable wages for the artisans that create them, safe working conditions, and NO child labor.
We carefully and meticulously vet each of our partners prior to working with them. This includes a thorough review of any relevant certifications (such as any local or globally recognized certifications, examples include: Fair Trade Certification, Certified B Corporation, GOTS, and World Fair Trade Organization) in addition to a custom questionnaire that assess the appropriateness of wages, work environment, and labor transparency. We conduct virtual tours of workshops, interview employees, and continually collaborate with our partners to ensure that the items we provide are made with social integrity.
